Artist GYM: Text Analysis [Theatre Aquarius]

Text Analysis with Amos Crawley

About the Workshop

Nerves. Feeling self-conscious. Feeling like you can't be consistent in an audition room with your best work. These are universals for most actors regardless of experience level. I believe that the road to consistency and the ability to relax into the work has its roots in the early stages of text analysis that tend to be skipped over in a rush to get to performance. For a richer and more complex understanding of a scene, we need to root around a bit. This GYM will be a discussion of how to spend more time with your scene or monologue before getting it on its feet. Some work will be theoretical but please feel free to bring in a piece which you may be interested in exploring.
