Loss is explored through an examination of collective memories and cultural rituals. Evidence of life once lived is explored through the use of black and white photograms and photographs. The aim is to place the viewer in the work, allowing an incorporation of their own varied perspectives, experiences and memories and provoke reflection. The personal effects and stories presented, construct an abstracted element that transcends individual identity. Objects and memories, that which is left behind, common place and significant, there to commemorate our universal need for memorialization.
