THE JEWISH VOICE OF HAMILTON
COMMUNITY GALLERY EXHIBITION
OPENING RECEPTION
FRIDAY, MAY 12TH  I 7PM - 10PM

The Jewish Voice of Hamilton features a snapshot of the dynamic life of the city through the lens of its one-time Yiddish language newspaper and its iconoclastic publisher, Henry Balinson.

This exhibit, circulated by the The Rose and Phil Rosenshein Museum at the Beth Jacob Synagogue, will display editions of The Jewish Voice of Hamilton newspaper, letterpress printing artifacts, photographs and other documents, which are all part of the Balinson Family Archive. The exhibition also highlights Henry Balinson’s involvement in the local labour movement and the important role of ethnic press in serving immigrant communities in urban centres.  It will run from May 12th to June 3rd in WAHC's Community Gallery.
