Plus Art Fair [The Cotton Factory]

Hamilton’s Creative Arts Centre in the heart of lower Hamilton
In the heart of lower Hamilton, this former industrial building from 1900 is a prime example of adaptive reuse.
It has been transformed from a cotton mill into a creative industries complex, with space for workshops, galleries,
office space for creative professionals, and studios for artists.   Filmmakers, photographers and special events
are also drawn to the building by its unique aesthetic and its historic charm.

PLUS Art Fair

May 18th-21st from 10AM to 4PM

Plus Art Fair 2017 is the first art fair in Canada to showcase the work of current MFA candidates and recent MFA alumni. PLUS AF provides a platform for emerging artists, curators, and educators — who will lead the arts and culture scene in the years to come — to exhibit and sell their work. As an annual event featuring the mediums of visual art, PLUS AF will become the destination for emerging art in Canada.

Guests of the opening night will experience a special presentation by Evolved Entertainment as well as curated catering by Trashed & Wasted, a collective that encourages restaurants to create unique dishes from “rescued” food, featuring local Hamilton establishments: Nique Restaurant, Butcher and the Vegan, and Collective Arts Brewing. Akimbo is PLUS AF’s official media sponsor, and additional partnerships include the Hamilton Arts Council, the Art Gallery of Hamilton, the Cotton Factory and the Gladstone Hotel.

Featured artists: Aaron Maclean, Alexis Hildreth, Amanda Clyne, Angela Snieder, Bruce Thompson, David Salazar, Eryn Oneill, Frances Thomas, Jessica Lincoln, Jonathan Groeneweg, Laura Dawe, Matt Tarini, St Marie φ Walker, Tait Wilman, Tess Martens, Lina Roessler, Katie Bruce, Lesley Loksi Chan, Sam Noseworthy
