Learn improv comedy in a fun and supportive environment. Experienced improv comedy teachers from Staircase Improv will guide participants through the basics of improv comedy. A Beginners drop-in workshop open to improvisers of all experiences, and ages. Participants less than 16 years of age require parental accompaniment. Dress in comfortable clothing as movement is guaranteed.  Limited to 16 participants per class. Cost is $10. Cash only

IMPROV MASTERCLASS

A BRIEF HISTORY OF PETTY CRIME starring Jimmy Hogg

PIECE OF MIND: THE STAGE PLAY by Colleen Taffe
Saturday, November 4-5, 2017 from 06:30 pm to 08:00 pm
This thought provoking performance is brilliantly written and directed by playwright and Mental Health and Addiction Specialist Colleen Taffe.  It inspires audiences to be challenged by the unforeseen world of mental illness and its damaging effects of stigma, quite tangible in the black community.

Julius Caesar is a fast-paced political drama about the conspiracy to kill the first Roman Emperor. When Caesar returns to Rome, not everybody is celebrating. His closest friend, Brutus, is troubled by Caesar's absolute power. Fearing tyranny, Brutus joins several other senators in a plot to assassinate his best friend.

Jamland is being screened at the Staircase Theatre as part of the Hamilton Film Festival on Thursday, November 9 at 9:00 pm. It is being shown with Et Tu, Dude?, another Ontario music documentary.
