Annette Paiement
Executive Director

Prior to taking on the role of Executive Director of the Hamilton Arts Council,  Annette held the title of Managing Director at The Cotton Factory, Hamilton, ON. A project space catering to creative entrepreneurs, non-profits, arts and culture. 

Annette is an honours graduate of the Ontario College of Art & Design, and the Canadian Film Centre’s New Media Lab's Interactive Art & Entertainment programme.  

Annette’s primary focus has been the promotion of arts and culture. Her role as the Director of the AGH BMO World Film Festival and Manager of Film, Performance & Special Events at the Art Gallery of Hamilton led to her to the role as Artistic Associate at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto where she curated a full season of diverse multidisciplinary festivals and events.

Annette is a current Board Member and Festival Producer for the Waterdown ArtsFest.

In her role at the Art Gallery of Hamilton as the Manager, Film, Performance and Special Events, Annette lead the AGH Gala Committee with the development and implementation of the AGH's annual fundraising campaigns. She was lead on all music programming and successfully produced 7 AGH Annual Galas, 3 fashion fundraising events and produced a number of sold out concerts.

In 2012, she launched a series of musical performances at the AGH Design Annex.  As a founding member of the Matapa Music and Arts Organization, she initiated the development of the 2013 Roots enRoute, a performing arts festival celebrating Black History Month and coproduced a series of concerts.

As the Founder and Director of the AGH BMO World Film Festival, her focus was on festival programming, curation and event development.
