Lennox Toppin
Director

Artist : Innovator : Visionary. A long-time advocate and supporter of the arts, Lennox has worked for the Canadian Opera Company, The National Ballet of Canada and the Shaw Festival Theatre. He has also volunteered as a committee member for several ground-breaking fundraising galas, including two of the AIDS Committee of Toronto’s signature events: Dancers for Life and Fashion Cares. Lennox has been a proud resident of the historic Strathcona area of Hamilton since 2011 and is eager to connect with, and support, the city’s diverse and growing arts community.

Some of Lennox’s current obsessions include experimenting with food to create innovative meals and delving into interesting areas and intriguing people both inside and outside the city. Inspired by Martha Graham’s seminal quote that “movement never lies,” he finds truth in the outward manifestation of innermost thoughts and desires. Lennox's passion also emerges in his fascination for his garden, with which he shares a deep physical and mental connection. While it is constantly evolving, his garden explores themes of love, sex, death and decay – while celebrating his personal freedom and liberation. These converge – and sometimes collide – in what he calls his own “private jungle”.
