Artist in Residence

From 2018 - 2024, the Artist in Residence program was run in partnership by Hamilton Arts Council and The Cotton Factory. To learn more about the program in 2025, visit www.cottonfactory.ca/air-career-launcher-artist-residency/ or reach out to coworkalchemist@gmail.com

The program supports the growing artistic practices of emerging and mid-career artists, by providing a selected recipient with access to free studio space at The Cotton Factory. Recipients are selected by a panel of Hamilton-based arts professionals and previous recipients.

The Artist in Residence program is made possible with support provided by the Women’s Art Association of Hamilton.

The AIR program provides a selected recipient with access to free studio space and associated benefits of being absorbed in the creative ecology of The Cotton Factory.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual to develop both their creative processes and professional skills in building a successful career in the arts.
