Nordic Artist Exchange

From 2017-2024, the Nordic Artist Exchange was run in partnership by Hamilton Arts Council and The Cotton Factory. To learn more about the program in 2025, visit www.cottonfactory.ca/nordic-artist-exchange/ or reach out to nax@cottonfactory.ca

The Residency provides a mid-career level visual artist from Hamilton with the opportunity to create new works in Tallinn, Estonia over a four to six week period! Taking place in September/October 2025, one lucky artist is welcomed by the Estonian Artists' Association, fostering cultural bridges between Europe and Canada.

“If selected, what can I expect?”

This incredible once-in-a-lifetime residency offers:

  • Access to studio facilities;

  • Engagement with local artists; and

  • Opportunities to share knowledge through workshops and talks.
